Holiday St Barths is worth it if you want the scene — the New Year's Eve harbor, the yachts stacked three-deep in Gustavia, the specific energy of Nikki Beach on December 31. It is not worth it if what you actually want is the island. You will not get the island in the last week of December. You will get an extremely well-attended party held on top of it.
February: the season everyone in the trade actually books for themselves
Ask anyone who works this island where they'd spend two weeks of their own time and money, and most of them will tell you February. The weather is the driest of the year — humidity drops, trade winds steady out around 15 knots, and the rain windows shrink to almost nothing. Water temperature is 79 to 80°F, which is warm enough that you notice it and cool enough that a long swim doesn't leave you flat.
Inventory is the interesting part. February is high season by any honest definition, but it isn't holiday-compressed. The villas that were locked up in December are cycling through their February bookings on standard weekly minimums — usually seven nights, sometimes ten around Presidents' Day weekend. The events question

February is when villa staff — housekeepers, chefs, house managers — are fully back into rhythm. The turnover chaos of the holiday weeks is behind them, and by week three of January the good ones are running their houses the way they want to run them. The ground transportation network is fully staffed and the mini-mokes and Suzuki Jimnys — the actual usable cars for St Barths' road grades — are available without a scramble.
